Holodomor 2023

This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor genocide in Ukraine.

Holodomor - is a man-made famine that took place between 1932 and 1933 in Ukraine, resulted in the death of millions of Ukrainians due to forced collectivization policies and the deliberate confiscation of food by the Soviet government. This tragic chapter in history represents one of the most devastating episodes of human suffering in the 20th century.

Join us in a candlelight vigil to honor the millions of victims of the Ukrainian Famine and Genocide.

When: November 25, 2023, at 6 pm

Where: Legislative Assembly grounds.

We will light the candles and pause for a moment of silence to honour the memory of the victims who have fallen dead from starvation. 

Please, bring a candle with you.  

If you are not able to join, pause on this day for a moment of silence wherever you may be. Pause and remember. Light a candle of remembrance in your home.
